We are excited to welcome you to experience the True North in Temagami. Our goal is to create a family cottage atmosphere for you to enjoy year after year! We are a family owned and operated business that prides itself on friendliness and cleanliness!

Ridgewood offers lakeside cottages with spectacular views of the sunsets over Angus Lake. We have 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom self-catered cottages, each with their own BBQ, picnic table, and fire pit.

TOWN OF Temagami

Temagami (pronounced “te-mawg-a-mee”) is a small municipality located 21 kilometres North of Ridgewood Cottages. The name comes from the Ojibway “Te-mee-ay-gaming” which translates as “deep water by the shore”. According to the 2011 census, Temagami has a population of 820 but only 386 private dwellings are occupied by usual residents. This population swells in the summer with the return of temporary and foreign residents and with tourists, all who come from far and wide to explore the network of waterways, islands, and trail systems around Temagami! The town has a welcome centre, pharmacy, hardware store, fish hatchery, grocery & liquor stores, restaurants, a bank & ATM, as well as specialty shops!

About the owners

We are Karen and Darren Cheeseman, the new & proud owners of Ridgewood cottages! Married 25 years, it's has been our forever dream to live lakeside! With the help of our family, friends and also the previous owners Brian and Laurie, we are finally here and ready to enjoy! 2022 is a big year for us and we have some new and exciting changes happening in the upcoming months! We are very excited to share this new adventure with each and every one of our clients!
